It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has won it all.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her debut and seven world titles have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it was a disappointing period because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was in motion.

"The possibility to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was out the team needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those physical issues have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this tournament is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as captain.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
