Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA recently having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Television Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
