Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their air space.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
