Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Destruction

Homeowners witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Meteorological Predictions

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.

Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk expected across different parts of both areas.

Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
