Star Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Views Following Narrating Disputed Covid Feature
The acclaimed actor has given his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccinations and commends former health official RFK Jr.
The Feature's Contentious Origins
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a well-known publication co-authored by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for assertions that Covid was a result of a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
The book's co-author, a producer, has penned books with controversial figure a known commentator. The producer wrote online celebrating Neeson's participation in the film.
A Firm Rebuttal
Representatives for Neeson have released a statement pushing back against implications that he supports anti-vaccine beliefs.
"We all recognize that misconduct may occur within the medical sector, but that cannot be equated to rejection of vaccines," the statement reads. "Neeson never has been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His extensive work with Unicef underscores his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
It added that the actor did not shape the project's narrative and that inquiries about its assertions are best addressed to the creators.
Major Claims Featured in the Documentary
According to the documentary, the script spoken by Neeson includes several strong claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have demanded "blind obedience" to health authorities.
- It argues that "medical science has become highly politicized."
- Kennedy is featured claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
- The film further attacks stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it cites a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Previous Controversy and Recent Disputes
The documentary also references a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the topic of a correction by the network for violations of guidelines.
Last month, the political figure instructed the CDC to revise its official position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is repeated in the documentary, contrary to a new report from the global health body stating no such link has been found.
A Past Position of Support
Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has in the past expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the conclusion of our narrative. This is the dawn of a different phase."
